A thought-provoking article on the BBC website. Essentially, it covers the "discovery" of a large squid and how, while we marvelled at the catch, it is a symptom of humans over fishing. It brings to mind the Young's advert - From the Maldives to Manchaster, via Grimsby. Young's are advertising the fact that they fish all over the world to freeze fish so we can eat them. We've massively overfished the North sea, so it's the rest of the world's oceans we're emptying now...Then again, I like to eat fish, rarely question where they came from so I'm as much to blame. Maybe I won't be having haddock and chips for lunch today after all...
