Did the Continental Drift Create an Oil Bonanza?
More than 90 million years ago, when the land mass of Pangaea began separating into the continents we now call South America and Africa, the earth may have produced a lucrative farewell gift: huge oil and gas deposits along both coastlines where they had previously been joined. Hi - I am new to this site, but today saw a fossil that I had not seen before, and wondered if anyone could tell me what it is.
I should have photographed something with it for scale, but the width was 75mm which would make the length about 300mm.
The shape was 4 parallel convex ridges, with narrow grooves between, but the overall was not curved, but flat.
Many thanks for any help
