Getting near the end!

Hi All,

I haven't actually posted anything on the site in what is likely to be years, but I keep flicking in and out to see what topics come up.

I am nearling the end of my European Masters in Geotechnics and rock like stuffs. Not quite the pure geology I had aimed at when I started university nearly 3 and a half years ago, but thats life! Currently a month away from completing the EGEC, course which is in the Federation of European Mining Programs.

On the course we have had courses in Wroclaw, Poland; Delft, Netherlands; Exeter (CSM), UK;  Freiberg, Germany;Miskolc, Hungary; We have travelled to several other countries besides as part of fieldtrips and general tourist type things. Got to see my first bucketwheel in Poland!  The course has concentrated obviously on the geotechnical side of things, with only vague hints at geology. This is a shame from my point of view, as I would have loved to have seen some of the more geological sights to be seen in the countries we visited.   That in no way sums up what has happened over the past 7 months, but I do not know how to describe anything else, and I suspect it would have alot more to do with alcohol if I did! Plans for the next year? Jobs! I started a while back and I am hoping to wander my way Australia bound, but I shall see how it goes yet.
