Hi - I am new to this site, but today saw a fossil that I had not seen before, and wondered if anyone could tell me what it is.
I should have photographed something with it for scale, but the width was 75mm which would make the length about 300mm.
The shape was 4 parallel convex ridges, with narrow grooves between, but the overall was not curved, but flat.

Wed, 12/22/2010 - 16:22Possibly a fossil Horsetail of some kind? I'd put money on it being some plant remain anyway... Any idea of the age of the strata it is in?
