On Friday I'm off to Tenerife for a week with university! Its not purely geology- have to do some vegetation surveying etc too, but I won't complain! I get to go into the Las Canadas caldera and examine the lava flows, as well as checking out some cliff exposures of the old basaltic series by boat. I don't get to do any hammering or take any samples unfortunately, as its apparently quite illegal, and the park rangers carry guns for some reason. I'll try to get some photos to put on the site though.
I'm back! It was a good trip, although the boat trip was cancelled due to rough seas. it was over 20 degrees the whole week. To be honest I was a little dissapointed that the volcano didn't erupt, but I guess I should be thankful that it didn't. I'll put some photos up soon.
Pics are on the way! they're on my computer, but I've got a deadline this week so I've not had chance to label and caption them all yet. I'll email them in some time next week with any luck.
