I am doing some research for my novel that I'm writing (oooohh!).
Can someone please tell me if Indian gold is yellower in its shade of colour compared to South African gold? A friend of mine seemed to think so; he bought Krugerand coins and they turned out to be more like Copper... and reddish.
In general Indian gold is yellower than South African, but there are a lot of regional variations as both countries produce large amounts from a large number of mines. The probable reason for the colour difference is that the South African variety is probably more pure, while the Indian gold has small amounts of silver alloyed with it and is technically known as argentiferous gold.

Hello Gus,
Thanks heaps for confirming. I can now write safely... to hopefully avoid too many critics
All the very best for now,
