How much of the earth or interesting places on earth have been explored or geologicaly mapped to a decent extent.
"Mapped" as in geologically or just "mapped" as in it's on a bit of paper somewhere? If it's the latter, then everywhere has been mapped and can be mapped down to metre (probably less) scale resolution. Geologically - I think Hypocentre has answered that
I guess I mean to ask somethimg more along the lines of how much of the earth remains to be explored for minerals or petroleum or other useful goodies.

Almost an impossible question to answer!
There is a plan to produce a geology map of the world at a scale of 1:1million
see http://www.onegeology.org/
Depends on whether you consider this 'decent'
