Southerly view of a road cutting at Bridgnorth in Shropshire. The picture shows the Kidderminster Conglomerate (or Bunter Pebble Beds) of Triassic age, cut down into older Permian Bridgnorth Sandstone. The deep cutting distinguishes the two. The conglomerate is interpreted as a flash flood deposit, containing Ordovician clasts from as far away as modern day Brittany in France.
