Ley Lines
Thu, 10/12/2006 - 19:47Last thing on cars, this is a picture of the car I drive on the drive of my house. You may admire.

Ley Lines
Mon, 10/16/2006 - 08:03Those of you that 'admire' need an eye test. what james has failed to mention is that when he starts the car, the engine rocks forwards and bachwards by about a foot (just under). He also keeps telling me that there is one pin thats wrong on the car, and if its changed, the car will be alot quieter. The car soulds like a C-reg transit van. After being left at the bottom of a liake for 10 years.
So belive james if you will, but beware! (cue spooky music thingy)
Ley Lines
Tue, 10/17/2006 - 13:34No i mean about a foot. As in 'imperial unit' foot. The value 0.33 is a horrible value. Its like buying a dishwasher for £198.98 why .98? Its 2 pence! So for describing your car, proper units are needed. thats why i used the value a foot.
When describing that sort of distance, does anyone else use 0.33m?
For every yes answer please get someone to slap you with a rotten fish.
For every no answer, allow your self an extra: pint and/or bar of choc and/or another 'goodie'.

Thu, 10/19/2006 - 07:50Now you're being nasty. Again!
How about we drop this subject before we get kicked off of the forum for being boring?
And to quote Gus:
Hmm, an interesting excursion here, from ley lines to bus wrecks to who's got the worst car
And now to a debate on Imperial and metric units! Will this ever end?!

Mon, 10/30/2006 - 09:02I think you have just described James: he's got stones, so can be stoned, and I watched him get excited over a geological map of cornwall. The only problem is when you mentioned lots of imagination. We both know he doesn't have any! james can probably steal a pencil from some of his flat mates, so thats no worries.
Debunking Ley lines and pattern imposition experiment
Sun, 09/20/2009 - 12:34While using maps and collections of randomly drawn points to show how the human brain is hardwired to impose patterns on random things, inventing Ley Lines and similar junk, you might consider the well known Rorschach test as another example. Its value to practicing psychologists and psychiatrists has long been in doubt, but it serves to show how the brain can see things that aren't necessarily there.
The Spiritual Side
Thu, 03/25/2010 - 08:10Ley Lines exist, created by human spirtualism. Sacred places inspire the building of spiritual monuments roughtly (if at all) along a straight line and ley lines 'link' spirtual sites. Attempting to measure the existance of a ley line with instruments other than the human soul is senseless. Ley lines themselves are not a physical geological feature any more than God is a physical entity and yet billions of faithful believe in God.
And?
Sat, 03/27/2010 - 09:58
...billions of faithful believe in God.
Yeah, and dragons, faeries, witches, warlocks, wizards (just look at Harry Potter), Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, vampires, werewolves (Twilight), extraterrestrials, U.F.O.'s, and the Loch Ness Monster...
To quote from the film Dogma, I think it's better to just have an idea!

Submitted by canadarocks on Sun, 07/02/2006 - 03:49.I'm wanting to perhaps give a talk about geology to my local skeptics group and I thought discussing Ley Lines would be appropriate, but I don't know of any good info on the web about this crackpot idea. Has anyone come across some interesting links?
Thanks
