My Foot Shaped Rock
I found my foot shaped rock in a river in TN on the way up to Cades Cove.
I live in Louisiana, and if anyone has seen our muddy water here u would understand that just the thought of seeing a nice clear babbling brook, stream, or river is totally enticing.
Well, we had to pull over and play in the water. About mid-way through, i saw this rock. I thought i was seeing a petrified foot through the water. LOL. I almost didn't pick it up, but then the longer i stood there starring at it and actually wondering "what" it could be, i had to touch it and look at it.
For those of u that aren't christian, I don't mean to offend, but when i held that "foot shaped rock" it was like that was my proof that Jesus walked this earth and i was holding one of his footprints!
I have been selfish and kept it to myself and close family and friends since i found it in '03, but now i would really like to know what kind of rock it is and would like to share it with others.
I have tried to attach pics to my question on the forums but with no luck and hopefully they attach and open here. but if they dont does anyone have any suggestions on how to post succesful pics?
If anyone can help identify the type of rock, i really know very little to nothing at all to be truthful. I really am grateful for any help or guidance.
Thank you,
Lillie

Foot shaped rock

I think that the narrow band of white across the "toes" of the rock is what is left of a filled fracture (calcite is my guess). Humans are pattern-seeking animals (apes if you will) and it is interesting how we can catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of our eye and it triggers a pattern (like a foot that you saw). Keep looking for the interesting rocks and keep asking good questions!!

Sorry Lillie, but I think its very unlikely that soil or mud could metamrphose in the 2000 years since Christ walked the earth.
