Hi my name is Doug I am a novice to geology but I'm very interested in learning all I can. My idea is to find rocks in my local area and maybe minerls. Thanks in advance for the help that you can provide. 8)

Where in MO are you? I did dome work around Rolla and know a little about the karstic features in that area. Have a good time collecting!

I'm in the south central part of Missouri if you go from Rolla down 63 highway to Willow springs Mo then take 60 highway east for about 30 miles thats were I live. We have a lot of Karst features many caves and springs the area is from the Ordovician. I have found some fossils but no minerals yet. But I don't know what to look for yet.
