I will be adding the last of the current material to the site over the next week and tweaking a few bits and pieces. GR 2 will close down on the Saturday and hopefully, GR 3 will be up and running by Sunday evening (18/2/07).
What you need to do:
Nothing! Your account and points will be transferred over with your current password.
What's new:
o Add your own content - this is the biggest single feature. You no longer have to email me your pictures, glossary entries and the like, you can add them yourself directly. Any new content is put in the editing queue and requires approval from the editors (Katie and myself) before it is published on the site
o Blogs - each user can (and is encouraged to!) create their own blog on the site
o News and Reviews articles - add topical news items, reviews and other articles
o Revised points system - We've tweaked the points system to include the new material types. We will also be offering prizes when you reach certain levels on Moh's hardness scale!
o Up-to-date user interface - hopefully, more modern looking interface with some neat features like WYSIWYG editing.
I have had a look at the new site, and have a question relating to the pictures section. You've added a diagram named "Ammonite", but I'm at a loss to understand the graphs next to it. I'm assuming the horizontal axis is time, and the vertical axis something like abundance, is that correct?

'Fraid not. They are typical suture shapes for each of the three ammonite-type animals. The page has been edited now
