Indonesia mud volcano floods.
Fri, 10/06/2006 - 07:56I saw the article on the news last night about this, and they (BBC) say that it is pumping out a football pitch sized cauldron every day in mud!
Found this on the BBC site,

Seems a bad way to deal with it, but what else can they do?

Fri, 10/06/2006 - 20:25In fact, the mud is a big deal right now. This is not a simple mud, it contains toxic particles and gases which could cause many diseases.
In my country, nobody tells the news on the Media, so I think that BBC is making a good job with the headline.

Wed, 10/18/2006 - 07:38They were drilling a bore hole - if they fractured a layer that was containing the mud, then it would be like shaking a fizzy drink and then drilling a hole in the lid!
Its quite possible that the drilling caused it, its too close to the source not to be involved, but the geological conditions will make it continue.
