greetings

I am , I guess the newbie here. I have been looking for a geology forum for some time that has an interational makeup, and is active. So many are moribund.

I am a secondary science teacher who has finally figured out what he wants to do when he "grows up" 10 years ago I took an intro Geology class and fell in love with the subject. Since then I have gained 110 college units from three schools , the latest being the University of Reno (Nevada USA) I am now in the process of consolidating my scatered geology credits into a BS and applying to several masters programs. My first choice is the Colorado School of Mines in Boulder Co.

My vacations are all based around geology. I have been to Scotland, Austrailia, and recently Iceland. My backyard playground is the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and the High desert of Nevada.

I am 61, married (39 years) and have two sons and three grandchildren. I am on my third career and preparing for my next.

I hope this proves to be an educational and entertaining experience here at Geologyrocks.

BTW how do I 'background" the poll, and latest image so I can see the full field of the writing surface?

Nice to see you here! Isn't

Nice to see you here! Isn't the office of the Geological Survey of Nevada in Reno? The CSM has an excellent reputation far beyond the US.

In your profile, you can change the "block" settings, which are the things that appear to the right of the screen. Click on "My account" in your personal menu, then "Edit", scroll down to "Block configuration" and select any you want and deselct those you don't.

Hope that helps Smiling face

I loved the geology!!  I

I loved the geology!!  I loved the people-very friendly and helpful.  I was not so happy about the price of everything!  I do not have figures but this must be one of the most expensive places in the world to live. If my poor technology skills allow I will post the pictures taken by my friend Eduardo of some of our visited sites.
