blue rock?

hi all, first post, an im a newly interested layperson in geology. can anyone tell me what the rock is that i come across quite often. its a sky blue colour and is usually worn quite smooth, and sometmes has white streaks/veins through it?

Your description is very vague and could actually be anything. A foto would be very helpful here! Where do you see it and how big is it? A detailed description would be cool.

However, even your few words remind me of something i have here on my desk. It might be Sodalite. does it look like the foto behind this link: http://www.mineralweb.net/sodalite.jpg ?

The area where you see it

The area where you see it would also be very helpful. Is it still in situ (still in the ground and very much attached) or is it a building stone or facing stone?
