Copper perhaps?  The green

Copper perhaps?  The green color maybe the copper changing to malachite (seen when copper weathers.

It looks like a mafic rock

It looks like a mafic rock that is beginning to be serpetinised. weathering mafic minerals may well lose some of the cations/metals. if they contain some it may form oxides on the surface.

Judging by the looks and description, I'd say it is malachite which is copper ore that has tarnished.
