The central stratovolcano of the island. It sits at 3715m above sea level on the northern side of the caldera of the older Cañadas volcano. Its eruptive styles were initially more basaltic, and its flows fill the caldera floor to a depth of 500m, and have progressed through to phonolitic, producing pyroclastic eruptions, and viscous phonolite flows.
