Some nice Garnets in what I think is a mica schist (but don't take that as gospel). Purchased whilst in the Czech Republic.

Hi Benauld,

I have a fireplace mantle with the same material.  It contains mica schist.  According to the mineralogy manual mica schist does contain garnets. You do have a beutiful sample.
