Fossils from Charmouth

  • Location: Found at Charmouth.
  • Date Taken (dd-mm-yy): 5/5/06

This example of what I believe to be a Promicroceras planicosta. Found at Charmouth on a fieldtrip with my A-level group. This sample was actually released from the rock in class after the fieldtrip. The whole rock is full of samples which would be too tricky to release. This sample was collected in a scree slope, but having traced it back I am assumming that it would have originally been from one of the inpersistent limestones that can be found in the Black Ven Marls. We are going back to have another go at the end of March. Happy hunting!!
