Earth science v geoscience
Mon, 07/04/2005 - 06:51Earth Science and geoscience are the same thing. Geo is the word for Earth in latin, so I guess the geoscience course are trying to be posh ![]()
If you see these terms, it just means you may get some geomorphology (study of the landscape), oceanography and other non-geological (but related to geology) topics in a course.
Hope this helps ![]()

Earth science v geoscience
Mon, 07/04/2005 - 09:48Thanks Jon
that answers my question.
I was going a little crazy there trying to work out what the difference was between the two!
It's funny, but to me, 'Earth Science' sounds more touchy-feely, and environmentally sound.
Whereas 'Geoscience' sounds like cold, hard science. Only people with an intelligence level that would shame Einstein need apply!
It's silly, i know.
Anyhow, i'll stop babbling now!
Thanks again

Earth science v geoscience
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 07/02/2005 - 23:46.Hi there,
i hope i'm posting this question in the right section, apologies if it's not.
I'm showing my ignorance here, but i'm a little confused. Is there a difference between "earth sciences" and "geoscience".
I've recently decided that i'd like to study geology, but these other 2 phrases keep cropping up and confusing the matter.
Are they seperate sciences?
Cheers
