My question is about fluorescence. I'm looking to get a stone, diamond or otherwise, put into my ring. I would really like something that really fluoresces well. I know some diamonds with very strong fluorescence can appear blue even under daylight. I was wondering if there were any other minerals that had an even more strong reaction than diamonds? Or are diamonds the best at this under daylight? I know they appear even more brillian under a UV lamp, but I'm more curious about fluorescence under daylight. Thanks for your help, and if you know a better forums for this question I would appreciate it!
Fluorite is sometimes used in jewellery; it's much softer than diamond however. What you get in daylight is its true colour, otherwise electric lights make stones like these and diamonds, appear a bit "washed-out".
