Have a look on where they go for thier fieldtrips and what modules they each do as there will be differences due to the different lecturers!

i know! we ave got one 2 iceland soon but it was lyk £1000 2 go only for 5 days so i amint going lol. but i think that would be good fun.

u lazy ****! lol. na you should do it its great fun. hard work tho. we went to France last year for gold. it was amazing! we were in the volcanic region of france and the scenery was something else.

dont u have to do liek loads of comunity service ne stuff?

yeh...had 2 do a year of service, skill, and a year and a half of physical.
i am hardcore! lol. but i think it really helps if u r tryn 2 get in 2 a competitive uni.

Are you all doing A-level geology then? I must admit I'm struggling to read some of the text speak, I think I must be getting old

Re: Imperial and Holloway, as far as I know they're both good universities for geology. Have you visited them both? I would probably just choose whichever I liked the look of the most if it was me.

i have visted them both, i think it realy comes down to whether i wanna live in central london or on a campus
its a tough choice and im very indecicive

Both RHU and Imperial are good Uni's. I doubt you'll be dissappointed in either. I know a couple of people who went to Royal Holloway and they turned out OK...

I went to Imperial College and had a great time. Mind you, it was in the last century when the natives wrote in English!

I'd agree with the comments of others that it is very much a personal choice - you have to feel comfortable there - but also check the syllabus to make sure that you can do what areas of the subject that you want to concentrate on. In my day at IC you could drop palaeontology after the first year - a great bonus for me as I hated it - and could concentrate on igneous and metamorphic instead (of course the opposite was also true). The course will have changed by now but you get the idea.
