Aquarium Rocks
Thu, 07/12/2012 - 23:46Most aquarium rocks that I've seen that are that size are formations composed mainly of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene or equivalent.
That's nice and thanks for your response. I was able to track down the owner of the tank in the picture some time ago and he said he got the rocks from an abandoned quarry in Pennsylvania. I'll post the type of rock if I can find his email.
cheers!
I apologize

I must apologize as I was being a smart alec.
Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene is ABS plastic. I've seen several aquarium scenery rocks made of plastic because of the weight involved in such a large stone. Plastic (but very realistic looking) aquarium scenery makes it much easier to maintain and clean the aquarium. I mistook the rock in your photo for a plastic replica.
