Inclusions in sandstone deposits. Whangaparaoa peninsular New Zealand. Photos

758 and 757 are inclusions.

757 interests me because the fill is less homogenous than others 

768 comes from a strata that seems (to me) to be the same sort of rock that forms the shells of the inclusions. This type of rock forms strata that are close to the basement greywake and don't appear higher up the column.

The blue/black deposit is almost peacock blue when wet.

At risk of being wrong again, I'll stick with my first guess that they are iron concretions.

 I'm surprised nobody else has made comment yet.
