Foot shaped rock, need help identifying rock type

Hi I am SO new to this but am becoming very interested.

I found a foot shaped rock in a river in TN headed up to Cades Cove back in '03. I have been wanting to get some answers about it but just never sought after any until recently when I called LSU and spoke with a professor there.

It just really has been bothering me lately to find out its composition.

I am attaching a pic and also have stats of it. Its really quite interesting.

Any help would be welcomed.

Thank you,

Lillie

Pictures

Hi there, welcome to GR.

About the pics: Not sure why they don't appear - if they were in the preview they should go through. I'll look in to the problem and see if I can fix it.

As for the rock: looks like a bit of phyliite (a metamorphic rock caused by regional metamorphism - i.e. when mountains get built).

Geologists are gneiss!!

Hi Lillie, I don't know

Hi Lillie,

I don't know where Cades Cove is so I don't know the geology there, but it looks like schist to me.
