Typical!! Prof. Steve
Tue, 02/27/2007 - 12:16Typical!!
Prof. Steve Sparks at Bristol Uni is heavily involved with monitoring this volcano. When it last erupted in a big way (a few years before I went to Bristol Uni) he took out some PhD students to help with the monitoring/predicting. Now I've left for a few years it looks like erupting again and no doubt more students will get taken!
Grrrr - I knew I should have done that volcanology PhD

The size of Montserrat’s Soufriére Hills Volcano now stands at 1,065 meters above sea level, containing some 250 million cubic meters of volcanic material, the largest it has ever been.
