I've written up some of my "adventures" there:

Hi there fellow geeks!

I have been interested in geology for several years now - it all began one cold and gloomy winter 's day when I couldn't think what to do and my husband suggested going to the coast to look for fossils - how many times he has regretted making that suggestion since that fateful day!! Fortunately, living by the east Yorkshire coast (Hull), we don't have far to travel for our expeditions, which over the years have proved very fruitful, geologically speaking. I have expanded my interest from my first love of fossils to rocks and minerals (attending 3 years of adult night classes at the local uni) and microfossils. I have also become an enthusiastic member of our lapidary society, finding great satisfaction in turning pebbles and artefacts founds on the beach into polished cabochons and jewellery. I enjoy my trips to our rapidly disappearing Holderness coast and further north to Sewerby, Dane's Dyke, Speeton, Filey, Scalby, Sandsend and Whitby, plus forays to the nearby Wolds and quarries. I'm lucky there is so much of geological interest virtually on my doorstep! I'm looking forward to learning more from this site and sharing ideas and "adventures" with like-minded geeks! Cheers!
