Hello Charlotte and welcome
Sun, 08/19/2012 - 21:04Hello Charlotte and welcome to GR.
Ask away. There will always be someone on here to help with identification and cataloging.
There must be many minerals from Sweden, although I confess that off the top of my head I can't think of one. I could name dozens from Norway and Finland.
If you are going to post pictures don't foget to include a 'scale'. This can be a ruler or an everyday object - coin, pen etc. Picures need to be clear and as close as possible. We might ask you various questions, but they are only to lead us to the correct identification.

Hello from Sweden
Submitted by Laika on Sun, 08/19/2012 - 20:27.My name is Charlotte and I'm a sociologist from Sweden. I have collected rocks for as long as I can remember. Mostly on shores but also in other places, like Ivö: an island close to where I grew up where you can find a lot of fossils. Lately, I have become interested in collecting rocks in a more systematic, scientific way and not only to find pretty rocks and put them in a drawer. I want to find rocks and identify them, and I want to look for minerals with interesting characteristics. I hope GeologyRocks will be useful here. I have read about geology on a popular scientific level and really have a lot to learn.
When I'm not busy collecting rocks I enjoy scuba diving, free diving, writing and needlework.
