Hello.  I trust that you

Hello.  I trust that you are aware that this is a geology site.  We generally don't deal in 'different cultures'  - merely different rock formations.  If we go abroad on a field trip we would tend to steer clear of towns and cities and head for the open spaces where outcrops are likely.

If you are interested in this side you are more than welcome to ask any questions about geology.  Can't always promise an answer of course.

Oh, I don't know about

Oh, I don't know about cultural differences on this site - I'm from Yorkshire and we obliterate specimens with 5lb lumphammers whereas people from other, more refined, parts of the UK use little so-called geologist's picks which are about as much use as a toffee-hammer.

Sorry, I most just carry a girly 2lb geo hammer.

I did take a 14lb sledge to Machen Quarry once.  It was a scorching day.  Got loads of specimens. So loaded down I nearly ditched the sledge!

I rest my case. 14lb

I rest my case. 14lb sledge.  Brute force and ignorance win the day!  I could never accuse John of being girlie wielding an implement like that.
