Earth without Moon

What could be the conditions of the Earth in the absence of the Moon?
Could such conditions could lead to the development of complex life forms leading to Human Intelligence?

Things would certainly be different wouldn't they?

Tidal pool creatures and other creatures that rely on the tide for feeding, and mating wouldn't stand a chance would they? I think if a key link to human evolution was such a creature, we might not exist due to no moon to drive the tides.
