I am not clear if the thin sections are a slice of the hand specimen.
I am pretty sure that the hand specimen is eclodite with is a main constituent of omphacite.
Very doubtful if you would have identified it unless you are a geologist.
I am going to forward your emailed pictures to Gus for a second opinion.
Sorry, no idea on the thin sections, but from the different minerals present, I would say they are almost certainly a metamorphic rock.

Identification of an unknown rock in hand sample and thin section
Submitted by Guy___ on Thu, 04/03/2014 - 04:42.Can anyone help me identify a rock in this thin section and hand sample. I have several pictures of it in thin section and in hand sample but I can't seem up attach them to this topic. I can email it if that is easier.
Just from looking at the hand sample I believe there is muscovite, biotite, quartz, plagioclase/feldpar and possibly chlorite (green mineral). Not too sure about the thin section.
