Help me identify this rock?

Hi!

I have a question that might be very simple for some of you guys. I found this rock and I have a really difficult time figuring out which type of chalk it is. I'm pretty sure it is chalk, i just have a hard time figuring out which kind. Please be nice since my knowledge about this subject is very limited Smiling face

Certainly it looks like chalk in the picture.  Have you tried 'writing' on a pavement with it? Where did it come from?  Is there chalk around that area? It certainly won't transport far.

However there are a number of other things it could possibly be, but rather than simply suggest tose now, try answering the questions I have aleady put.
