MSc in Petroleum Geoscience

Hi,

I've been thinking about doing a master in petroleum geoscience in the UK but I have no idea which one offers the best job prospects. Which of the following universities would you recommend and what's the main reason(s) for your choice? Would you recommend any other in the UK or in elsewhere in Europe?

 - Heriot Watt

- Aberdeen

- Manchester

- Imperial College

Many thanks,

Rocky

I have no idea about how

I have no idea about how good the course is but I think Newcastle Uni also offer an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience.

From your list I'd suggest that Imperial have the best reputation and that Aberdeen is still a location with a big dependence on the oil & gas industry.

Imperial's course is heavily

Imperial's course is heavily oversubscribed (at a recent meeting I heard that 500 people had applied for <50 places - unless you have a 1st in your undergrad degree you have no chance), but very good. Aberdeen's and HW's courses are also very good, with good links to industry.
