Unfortunately the Forth Road
Sat, 06/23/2007 - 11:13Unfortunately the Forth Road Bridge in a bit of a state and it will be closed in 2013 (or thereabouts. I've heard figures of 2019 and 2030!). There have been lots of ideas for a replacement, from ferries (cheap, but slow), a new bridge and a tunnel. The bridge was favourite, but we've had a change of government since then, so who knows.

Forth Crossing
Submitted by javi_geo on Sat, 06/23/2007 - 09:08.I´m sorry, I know that it has nothing to do with what we are discussing here, but Scotland is my sencond Country and I love it!.
The point is that I was reading the Scotmans Newspaper and suddenly I came across a news about the Forth crossing. I think those of Edinburgh, Stirling, Falkirk, Perth and surroundings know what I´m talking about.
I´m a bit worried if they build another bridge nearby the Forth Road Bridge one because it would breake the lovely view of the Forth Road and Forth Bridge together. Three bridges are too many. I think that if they want to do a crossing they should think about the possibility of build a tunnel under the Firth.
I´m waiting your points of view on this matter.
Thanks,
Javi.
