Could anyone identify these rocks(crystals)?

The first picture is almost
Mon, 09/23/2013 - 17:54The first picture is almost certainly calcite. There are some dog-tooth crystals and broken bits of stalagmite - I hope they didn't come from a cave. The other specimen appears to be a fine-grained sandstone or greywacke with a string of colourless quartz crystals.
As with all these specimens, it's good to know where they came from as it helps with identification.

Mon, 09/23/2013 - 18:03They are from a country you probably never heard off(Lebanon). I always find them in the village where I live. I found some of the calcite in a cliff of chalk like rocks yesterday some of them were deeply implented in the cliff and some other could easily fall off.

Wed, 09/25/2013 - 18:34There's no problem with the calcites if they come from a crumblimng cliff. The reason I asked where they came from is because Ebay were selling stalagmites a few years ago that were broken off from caves and here in the UK you can be fined up to £1000 for damaging or owning stalagmite from this source.
