I don't believe.....

I don't believe  that no one has been on a field trip for over a year!

I shall be going to Spain in October - somewhere just north of Madrid I think - hopefully we shall see something of Javi again whilst we are there!

I guess I never posted about

I guess I never posted about my field trip last summer for a class.  Went into the Rocky Mountains in Colorado and studied contacts, faults, thickness of beds, etc. of a Precambrian-jurassic-cretaceous rock sequence.  It was pretty cool.  The precambrian was gneiss, I think like 1.4 billion years old.  Then jurassic sediments right on top of it, mostly fines and a little limestone.

I went to Cornwall in April,

I went to Cornwall in April, a nice little week long walk through the petrological Moho as it was described in our field work handbooks, saw lots of tourmaliniteGranite which was very pretty, and started mapping for the first time(I've only just completed my first year degree)

And, Snap!

I'm going to Spain in September, just North of Madrid, we'll be mapping, but I'm not sure what yet, they haven't told us anything except be at Bristol Airport on time!

At first you Mafic I'm basicaly intrusive, but when you get to know me you'll realise I'm orthogneiss.
