Black moving stones

Can someone please help explain these stones..They are black in color and shiny and have the energy to move in the dark...The local house them in boxes to stop them from moving. they are believed by the locals to be valuable black gold...they weigh about 5 to 10 kg

Brand new map of Greenland creating political problems

Producing a map can be an extremely difficult undertaking. Atlas-makers and map-makers have a tough job - the choices they make are socially, politically, and in some circumstances even scientifically charged. Greenland is losing some ice mass due to melting. The Times Atlas, however, is at the center of a discussion after publishing a map that showed a 15 percent decrease in icemass.

A rambling and exploring mind

I have started an on-going project about geology using places visited as a starting point.  Some of the countries are:

United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, Canada and South America.

My intention is to use maps, images and notes to create something of interest for my family, friends and anyone else interested in this facinating subject.

Quadriplegic male forced off of Frontier Airlines plane

A quadriplegic man was forced off a Frontier Airlines plane in Dallas, Texas Sunday. The man was trying to go back home to Fort Collins, Colo., along with his family.
