I know there is a posted opinion of Simon's "Krakatoa" and "Map That Changed the World" books, but I like to think that Simon's has been able to bring some geology books to the front of the Barnes & Noble stores. His explanation of geologic concepts is good for the lay person and may have appeal to the masses. I read "The Crack at the Edge of the World" about the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and remain happy with his depiction of geology and the way things work.
