Classic U-shaped valley in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. The valley occurs between the hard sill of Salisbury Crags and the volcanic remnants of Arthur's Seat. The softer cementstone group were scoured out.

The famous Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh. The crags are composed of teschenite (coarse grained basic igneous rock) and intruded into the Cementstone Group.
