So who's read Harry Potter?

I read it on the day it came out, took me seven hours and it was fab! Who else has read it and what did you think?>

(I daren't post too many details in case I spoil the ending for anyone!).

It was alright - worth a read, but probably not worth the hype. Saying that I did finish it within a day, so it's obviously not-put-downable!

So who's read Harry Potter?

No, I don't read a lot of fiction, although I am now on the last chapter of the recent prequel trilogy to Roger Zelazny's ten book Amber series, which someone else wrote after he died. It's another adventure story with magic in it; I just felt like a bit of light reading after a load of heavy lunar science books.... which now I think about it were supposed to be themselves providing a break after some other difficult stuff. :oops:

I think it was John Lydon (nee Rotten) who once said "I'm not looking for escapism; I just want to escape".


Don't ask me - I wouldn't know a maar from a hole in the ground.
