What exactly is a basite?

I am working with ACF/ACFM/AFK diagrams, and basite is popping up a lot. I don't know exactly what it is, and google isn't helping. Anybody want to help?

Thanks, that actually helps quite a bit.  The link is good too, thanks again.  I'm working with AFMCK diagrams, and its just too confusing.  But thanks a lot.
