Just got my Geology Degree, looking for work HELP!!

Hey all

im currently living in Australia, and have finally finished my course Bachelor of Geology. Now i did this course part time over 5 or so years, and now im affraid when i apply for jobs and in the interview they might ask me questions that i might not remember or if i do get a job then they might expect me to know things from the course which i may not remember, any advice??

also i have no exprience working as a geologist and most job ads require someone with at least 1 or 2 years exprience so is there a way around this?

thanks

Hi, what aprt of Australia

Hi, what aprt of Australia are you in?

I'm a UK geo living and working in Perth (I do resource estimation, modelling, computing and a bit of exploration), and everyone here is so laid back they're horizontal, I didn't even get interviewed!
The time taken to get your degree won't matter, and yes experience does help, so make sure you draw on field trips, extra ciricular activities, any conferences presented at.
Also the job market here is really bad at the moment, and won't pick up again until after the US elections!
Apply to as many companies as you can (literally just type geology in to googel and email every company in the area you want to work regardless of wether or not they are offering positions).  Apply to all the graduate schemes you can, and apply to every agency you can.
