Almost an impossible

Almost an impossible question to answer!

There is a plan to produce a geology map of the world at a scale of 1:1million

see http://www.onegeology.org/

Depends on whether you consider this 'decent'

"Mapped" as in geologically or just "mapped" as in it's on a bit of paper somewhere? If it's the latter, then everywhere has been mapped and can be mapped down to metre (probably less) scale resolution. Geologically - I think Hypocentre has answered that Smiling face

I guess I mean to ask somethimg more along the lines of how much of the earth remains to be explored for minerals or petroleum or other useful goodies.
